The best four apps to streamline your property purchase
It seems like every day now we hear about another new app or property platform that’s designed to provide ‘property market insights’ and streamline your property purchase.
Sure, some of those platforms have drastically changed the way buyers can search, assess and decide which property to view and – hopefully – acquire.
Compare that to the good old days where we had to get up early to get the paper, and then sit with a pen to mark the listings that looked good enough to make you want to call and ask the agent for more information. Some ads would have an image or two, but most didn’t.
The other option we had was to hang outside the agent’s shop and see what properties were displayed in their shop window . . it’s making me tired just thinking about how tricky it was back then.
Now, we have the opposite problem. There’s so many ways to find and research a property, and an avalanche of information to work your way through - it can be quite overwhelming as to where to stop.
Apart from slowing buyers down as they wade through the details, it’s difficult to be sure you’re dealing with the latest and most up to date information.
And in this market, you really have no time to waste – good properties will be listed, the agents will hold one open, then you’re required to submit an offer and sign the contract often on a Saturday or you risk missing out on the purchase.
Which is best?
We’re continuously reviewing new apps, and the landscape can change quite quickly but the list of apps below are the best in the range of free / no cost options. ‘Free’ means you’ll have to put up with ads on the site, but the information and ease of use will make the experience worthwhile.
What’s next?
After you have found your favourite property, the next step is to submit an offer and negotiate with the agent to acquire the property.
This can be a complex and nerve wracking process so if you would like some help to ensure you get the absolute best price, remember you can use our Negotiation Navigator service.
With Negotiation Navigator on your side, you can turbo charge your negotiation power and take the pressure off your position in the buying process.
